Wall Stadium to Race in 2011

When the last car left the track at the conclusion of the Turkey Derby on Thanksgiving weekend everything had been decided with the exception of the biggest question of all. What would be the fate of Wall Stadium for 2011 and beyond? Thanks to a local businessman the track will run a full schedule this year and hopefully for many more.
Midway through the 2010 racing season, competitors and fans got the news many thought might be coming, but no one wanted to hear. Track promoter Jim Morton had tried his best to keep the track going after coming to it's rescue at it's previous closing. However, he and the owners of the property the track sits on could not come to an agreement to continue the relationship.
While no one wanted to see any racing lost at the track, the big concern was for the season ending, very popular "Turkey Derby". Two men associated with the track for many years, John Blewett and Don Ling, stepped up and made an agreement with the owners to promote this event only. The "Turkey Derby" was a success, but it also showed the men they couldn't do it on a weekly basis with their other commitments.
The fate of the track was still up in the air until another local businessman, Cliff Krause, signed a lease to operate the track on a full time basis in 2011. Krause is the owner of Supreme Manufacturing in East Brunswick, N.J., and also has a son who is a regular competitor at the track. He not only signed a one year lease, but also has an option to purchase the property first should a buyer emerge.
Since the lease was only signed in January the track only has a preliminary schedule at this time. The first event of the season will take place on April 16th.  The "On Track Party" event will allow fans to come down on to the track before racing starts to meet the drivers and get to see the racecars up close.
Wall Stadium seems to be in good hands for the upcoming season and hopefully beyond with Cliff Krause. Hopefully we'll get good weather every Saturday night and the fans will turn out to support it so come Thanksgiving weekend the only question will be who will win the "Turkey Derby"?
