Clint Bowyer, as more and more time has gone by, looked to be running out of options for a seat in NASCAR Sprint Cup in 2012, and beyond. However a statement put out today by Michael Waltrip, may hold the clue as to where the current Richard Childress Racing driver will finally sign.
Richard Childress had already announced that as much as they would love to keep Bowyer in their stable, they have been unable to secure any sponsorship. Richard Petty Motorsports was reportedly involved in talks to bring him into their camp, but have since withdrawn their offer.
Then today, Michael Waltrip, issues a statement saying he currently has nothing to announce regarding Clint Bowyer. If that isn't the statement we hear every time before an announcement is made I don't know what is.
So it looks like, very shortly, there will be an announcement giving NJ's Martin Truex Jr. a new teammate.
Leave it to Michael Waltrip to find a sponsor!
