The Truex brothers of Mayetta, New Jersey, Ryan and Martin, will both be in the spotlight on this NASCAR weekend in Atlanta. Ryan for his first start for a very good team, and Martin, who besides racing will be making an appearance on Speed Channel.
Ryan will make his first of six scheduled starts for Joe Gibbs Racing in the number 20 Schick Xtreme3 Toyota, on Saturday at Atlanta. Although he drove earlier this season for Pastrana/Waltrip Racing, until sponsorship ran out, and ran well, this will be the best team he has ever driven for. The number 20 sits 12th in NASCAR Nationwide Series owner points, despite a lack of a full-time driver, and sponsor. This will be a big opportunity for the Garden State driver to showcase his skills, and ,maybe, even pick uo a win.
Martin Truex Jr. will also be racing, but on Sunday in the NASCAR Sprint Cup event. Martin, however, will be in the spotlight at Atlanta for a different reason. He will be making an appearance on Speed Channel's RaceDay program on Sunday at 4:30pm. He will be joined by Brad Keselowski, who he finished second to last week.
This could truly go down as a special Labor Day weekend for the Truex family. With Ryan strapping into a car that is capable of winning every time it takes the track, and Martin's NAPA team seemingly running better and better each week. It is entirely possible the Truex brothers could leave Atlanta with a trophy each. Now that would be pretty incredible.
