Dale Earnhardt Jr., believe it or not, only wins one of NASCAR'S Most Popular Driver awards every year. The NASCAR Sprint Cup one. Although, this is probably the only one many people hear about, the sport actually does give out the award in it's other divisions.
As a blog about New Jersey racing I would give you a link to vote for Martin Truex Jr. in the Sprint Cup, however, we all know that would be fruitless.
There are, however, two NJ drivers who are eligible to win the award in the Modified division, Jimmy Blewett, and Jamie Tomaino. While I feel even Jimmy would tell you he doesn't deserve this award with his part-time status on the Tour, Jamie may be another story.
Jamie Tomaino is not only a past champion of the division, but also among it's most loyal supporters. He attempts to race every event, even though he is significantly underfunded, and simply doesn't have the help many of the other teams have. He is also among it's most well-liked by fellow competitors, and officials. Those same people would probably agree he is definitely worthy of this award among them.
I have included the link below to vote for your favorite. I'm not saying you have to vote for Jamie, but you do get to vote once a day until the deadline, and it would be nice to have a deserving Jerseyan win.
