Joey Logano, the driver of the Home Depot #20 in the Sprint Cup, gave an interview today on CNN, while walking through the Nascar Hall of Fame. As the interview closed, Logano was asked which of the cars on display he would like to drive, as he stood next to a former Richard Petty ride. He pointed at the number 43 and said this one of course, but then got into a long conversation on Modifieds.
He told the host being from the Northeast where Modifieds are so popular, he would love a chance to drive Richie Evans number 61. When she replied, "Really! Why?", Logano began telling her how the Modifieds were not only the most fun to drive, but also provided the best racing of all the Nascar divisions.
He even got in depth about their power, and large tires, and being able to use the bumper.
Go Joey, I was never a real big fan of Logano, but I'm thinking about going out and getting myself a Home Depot #20 shirt.
Really makes you wonder why everyone, except Nascar and television, realize how good the racing is in the Whelan Nascar Modifieds. Some day they'll get it, let's just hope it's not too late.
