The crew chief change on the number 56 NAPA Toyota, driven by Martin Truex Jr., seems to be continuing to pay dividends. The New Jersey driver backed up his solid finish at Pocono by qualifying in the 11th spot for today's Sprint Cup race at Michigan. His teammate, David Reutimann, qualified on the outside of the polesitter for the third week in a row, Kurt Busch.
While Truex Jr. doesn't have the record to back it up, he claimed earlier this week to really like the wide track for it's ability to offer drivers many different lines to run. He will have to continue to improve and put himself and his team in a position to win soon if he is to have any chance of qualifying for The Chase.
