Penalty Announced for Joe Gibbs Racing Illegal Parts

The penalty has been announced by Nascar for the illegal oil pans found on all three Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas during inspection prior to the cars taking to the track. All three crew chiefs, Mike Ford(Fedex #11), Dave Rogers(M&M's#18), and Greg Zipadelli(Home Depot#20) have been fined $50,000 each and put on probation until December 31. All three car chiefs, have also been put on probation, as well as Vice President of Racing Operations, Jimmy Makar, until December 31 as well.
That seems to put everyone on the team, with the exception of Joe Gibbs, on probation. This might be of concern in other professional sports, but not in Nascar. Afterall, where else can you be on probation, get caught going nearly triple the speed limit in a residential zone, and still be able to participate in your sport.
Nascar seems to feel they are not treated like a real sport, and maybe this is why. The NBA is not afraid to eject a star player, and even suspend him if he continues to violate their policies. The NFL suspended Ben Rothlisberger four games last year for something he wasn't even charged with.
Nascar probation is a joke, if you want any proof just look at the smirk on Kyle Busch's face. The same smirk Richard Childress tried to knock off his face.
