There are reports claiming NASCAR has seized the Whelen Modified Tour car number 7 of New Hampshire race winner Ryan Newman. The car is scheduled to be delivered to the NASCAR R&D facility in North Carolina, for inspection early next week. There is no word what they are looking for.
This move could simply be because of the sheer dominance of the 7NY every time it participates in the series. Certainly there are rumblings among the Tour regulars regarding the legality of the car.
Guess we'll find out soon if the car's illegal, or Ryan Newman is just that good of a driver. Seeing how he won the NASCAR Sprint Cup race today, I would tend to side with the driver, but I guess we will see.
